Hospitals and Long-Term Care Facilities
Hospitals and other long-term care facilities have used Recovery International self-help groups for decades as an adjunct to mental health care and to preparare patients for release and referral to a Recovery International group to ensure continuity of care. By having Recovery International meetings at your hospital or care facility, you provide patients:
- An adjunct to care, which can be entirely peer run; and
- Training on how to use the Recovery International tools and take part in meetings, so they will be able to take part in Recovery International meetings easily upon release.
Whether you are a hospital, eating disorder clinic, halfway house, etc., bringing Recovery International to your facility doesn’t conflict with established programs but rather provides your patients with the tools and resources necessary to enable full continuity of care at Recovery Internaitonal meetigns following release.
If you would like to discuss opportunities on how to bring Recovery International meetings or our The Power to Change programs to your facility, contact Christine Lewis.
