Code of Ethics and Conduct
Recovery International’s Code of Ethics and Conduct is designed as a commitment to uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior and practices in all areas of business connected with the organization. It’s built around the recognition that everything we do in connection with our work at Recovery International will be, and should be, measured against the highest possible standards of ethical business conduct.
All of our employees, volunteers, and board members are expected to know and follow the Code of Ethics and Conduct. Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment, removal of volunteer, or board member. Moreover, while the Code of Ethics and Conduct is specifically written for Recovery International volunteers, employees and board members, we expect Recovery International contractors, consultants and others who may be temporarily assigned to perform work or services for Recovery International to follow the Code of Ethics and Conduct in connection with their work for the organization. Failure of a contractor, consultant or other covered service provider to follow the Code of Ethics and Conduct can result in termination of their relationship with Recovery International.
- Recovery International will comply with all applicable laws and regulations and expects its directors, officers, employees, committee members, group leaders and volunteers to conduct business in accordance with the letter and spirit of all relevant laws;
- Representatives of Recovery International will use good judgment based on high ethical principles that will guide group/volunteer leaders with respect to lines of acceptable conduct;
- Representatives of Recovery International will refrain from any illegal, dishonest, or unethical conduct; to act in a professional, business-like manner; and to treat others with respect.
- Representatives of Recovery International will take to their work an attitude of open-mindedness, be willing to be trained for their work, and to bring interest and attention to the work.
